Kinds and Roles of Volunteer
Helping each other is a must; it is precious activities that can make other people feel happy and comfortable. Believe or not, everyone has soul and taste to help each other although some people sometimes ignore other people around them. Do you like helping other people that need to help? If you have high social soul and really want to help other people, you can be a volunteer. Volunteer is a precious job (or a side job if you are a businessman/woman) that can be done by many people. To be a volunteer is easy, you don’t need a special skill because you just need to register a social organization which has social programs to help other people around you for free, like Sing for Hope that has community outreach programs. Generally, job of volunteer is divided to be three types, take decision, collect fund, and help social programs which are held by social organization. Therefore, if you are interested in becoming a volunteer, you should determine what is role that you want as a volunteer. To make you know much about it, there are kinds and roles of volunteer:
First kind and role of volunteer is a decision volunteer. It is a volunteer that become a social organization management. Its role is formulating all decision that will be used to help other people. A decision volunteer is usually chosen by organization member.
Second is a field volunteer. If you want to help and visit other people directly, a field volunteer is the right choice for you. Its role is doing social organization programs in social environment directly, nothing in return.
Third is a temporary volunteer. This type is matching with you who have high social soul but don’t have enough time to follow a social organization program or you don’t want bound in it (if you have work as businessman/woman at office). This volunteer just gives contribution in certain times. Its role is becoming an informant in certain programs.
Fourth is an expert volunteer. It is a volunteer that is able to give and show its skill to social organization’s program, like giving information or consultation. Its role is giving suggestions and solutions in determining social organization’s program that can be consideration materials to social organization management.
After you know about kinds and roles of volunteer above, you can determine which one kinds of volunteer that you want. Whatever your choice, you can do your job correctly and sincerely. Bear in mind, if you like to help other people, they will also be happy to help you one day later.
